At most group accommodations, you all sleep under one roof. Not at Smûk. here, every couple, family, or friend has their own cottage, tent, or camping pitch, yet you are together on the same yard. That makes the difference. You can retreat whenever you want. And when you feel like company, you just step outside.
At Smûk, you can all book the same type of accommodation, or a mix. Everyone sleeps their own way, and that is exactly the strength of the farmyard. Choose what suits you.
Lytse Bell Tents (6 units)
Six fully equipped bell tents around a shared field, with a large farmhouse table in the middle. Beds made, wood stove, outdoor kitchen. The ideal setup for a group that wants to be together but still have their own space. Even friends who don’t actually like camping will be up for this.
Grutte Bell Tents (3 units)
Three large bell tents side by side, opening onto the wide fields. Fully equipped, with a bit more privacy. This way you camp together, but with just that extra bit of privacy. Read a book in your own chair, and then quickly join the table together.
Smûk Thuskes (4 safari tents)
Four luxury tent cottages side by side, each with its own fire pit (outdoor cooking!), outdoor shower, and toilet. The comfort of a cottage, the feeling of sleeping outdoors. With a double bed and a bunk bed, it’s ideal for families, but just as good for couples or friends who enjoy staying in style.
Nature Cottages
Does someone in the group want a bit more luxury? The Smûk Tiny, the Smûk Huske, or the Fjild Huske offer the perfect combination of comfort and nature. With a hot tub, wood stove, and views over the land.
Camping Pitches
Is your group coming with their own tents, caravans, or campers? Then you can stay at the Smûkveld. With five pitches, the large outdoor kitchen, the sophok, and the fire pit within reach, it’s a cozy gathering place.
Enjoying together, living outdoors
At Smûk, there are plenty of places where a group naturally comes together. Here are the facilities that are extra nice for groups.
Praat Kafee
A separate, heated space that you can have all to yourselves as a group. Everyone sleeps in their own nature cottage or tent, but you meet again around the long farmhouse table. Breakfast together, gourmet dining, drinks, and catching up.
Outdoor Kitchen & Campfire
Cook together at the covered outdoor kitchen or bake pizzas in the wood-fired oven. And when it gets dark, you’ll naturally gravitate toward the fire. Campfire conversations that last until late—that’s part of the Smûk experience.
Boating with the Smûk sloop
Get out on the water with your group. Rent the Smûk sloop and sail towards Tjeukemeer, Sloten, or Langweer. Or grab the free canoes and head out into the Frisian lake district together. There’s room for everyone on the water.
Space for children
Children play freely in the yard, pet the goats, collect eggs from the chickens, and build dens in nature. There is always something to do, without parents having to organize a thing.

Er werd echt meegedacht over de aankleding en de invulling van het programma. Door het netwerk van lokale partners dat Smûk heeft, konden we ondernemers uit de buurt gebruiken voor de catering, de aankleding, een bloemen workshop, een buitenbioscoop en muziek tijdens het diner. "Voor onze jaarlijkse KICK-OFF gingen we naar SMUK in Echtenerbrug. We werden vriendelijk ontvangen en konden meteen in onze huisjes. De huisjes zijn super cosy en geven meteen een warm thuis gevoel. In de avond hadden we een heerlijke BBQ. De organisatie hiervan was ook weer tot in de puntjes geregeld. De kok had zoveel passie voor z'n vak en legde elk gerecht met veel enthousiasme uit. De accommodatie is heerlijk aangekleed en super voor grotere groepen. Na een gezellige avond en een goede nacht startten we de volgende ochtend met 't ontbijt. Dit was ook echt fenomenaal! Het werd met zoveel liefde bereid. Na dit heerlijke ontbijt konden wij onze KICK- OFF dagen vervolgen in een meeting ruimte op locatie. We zijn door SMUK helemaal in de watten gelegd en zouden dan ook iedereen aanraden deze accommodatie te boeken voor één of meerdere meeting dagen. We hopen hier zeker terug te komen!"

"Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf bij Smûk! We waren met een vriendengroep met 12 personen en alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd. De glamping tenten waar wij verbleven, waren van alle gemakken voorzien. Daarnaast hebben we een heerlijke pizza-avond gehad, hebben we gevaren met de sloepjes, genoten van een topontbijt en zijn we het dorp in gegaan met de fietsen. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!"
Friesland around the corner
Smûk is located near Tjeukemeer, the largest lake in Friesland. You can sail right there from the jetty. But there is more to discover.
Take a bike ride through the polder. Hike through the Rottige Meente or the Weerribben. Discover the small Frisian towns of Sloten, Lemmer, or Joure. Go swimming together at the beach in Echtenerbrug. A favorite outing for groups is a visit to Pantropica with its butterfly garden and alpacas—the kids love it.

Is there a minimum number of people for a group booking?
No. Smûk has no minimum or maximum for groups. Whether you come with 6 or 20 people, we simply look at what best fits your group and the available options.
Can we combine different types of accommodation?
That’s exactly the idea. Everyone sleeps their own way—one in a bell tent, another in a nature cottage or their own camper. As long as the accommodations are available on your dates, mixing them is no problem.
Are the accommodations located near each other on the grounds?
Yes. The accommodations are intentionally arranged in groups on the grounds. On the map, you can see exactly which spots are close together. If in doubt, we’re happy to help you find the best combination.
Is there a space where we can eat or meet together as a group?
Yes. The Praat Kafee is a separate, heated space that you can reserve as a group. Ideal for a shared breakfast, dinner, drinks, or meeting. Can be booked per day.
Are dogs welcome for group bookings?
Dogs are welcome on the camping pitches, provided they are on a lead. Different rules apply to the glamping and nature cottages. Check this with the specific accommodations or contact us.
